String quartet complete

Mr David Kennedy, MLA (Labor, Bendigo) was at the recent auditions of the newly completed Bendigo music teacher pilot program string quartet.

Russian-born Jacob Lakirovich (centre), violinist with the Queensland Theatre Company, has been appointed second violin and completes the quartet.

Mr Lakirovich is here with (left to right) Deborah Fox (first violin), Phillip Taylor (viola), William Howard (cello) and Mr David Kennedy.

Mr Lakirovich has had extensive overseas experience, playing with the Tel Aviv Chamber Orchestra, the Heildelberg Theatre Orchestra in West Germany.

He arrived in Australia 18 months ago and gained extensive teaching experience at the Stoliarsky School of music in Brisbane.
