BCAE Concert

The Bendigo College of Advanced Education will hold a free concert today given by Bendigo's resident musician teachers (right) as an extension of the Kodaly Workshop at the BCAE this week.

The quartet will play Brahms' string quartet in C minor.

Also today, two members of the quartet, Deborah Fox and William Howard will play a Ravel duo for violin and cello.

These two free concerts will take place in the Students' Union of the BCAE at 12.50 pm to 1.20 pm.

About 75 music teachers from many parts of Victoria and interstate are benefiting from a week-long music conference.

The conference is being Conducted by Lois Choksy, of the University of Calgary, Canada, and Ilona Bartalus, of the Liszt Academy of Music, Hungary.

The conference is concerned with teaching the Kodaly workshop which is a singing based approach to music teaching through folk songs.

The two have being touring Victoria for three weeks.

The tour is being Sponsored by the BCAE.

There are a few public sessions for the remaining three days of the concert for anyone interested.
